Baby Juarez……..?????
July 31, 2007 amyleesspace
Well I have not written a new blog in a little bit, partially because I am training my replacement at work UGGHHH!!! I hate training, let me just say that one more time, I HATE TRAINING!!!
I just don’t have the patience, when you don’t get it after I have told you ten times how to do it , and your not taking efficient notes, I just want to SCREAM!!!!
Ok I just had to get that out, I feel much better now
Well our very own ever so successful fellow blogger DBalc has sparked a wonderful topic for a blog. “What should I name this tub-o-lard of a baby”, that is taking FOREVER to make it’s entrance into this world.
Since we did not find out what we are having it has caused quite a bit of anxiety, especially regarding a name. If it is a girl we are pretty much all set, there are a few names that we like so once we see her we will choose which one best suits her. On the other hand if this little monster
shall be a boy we have no CLUE what to name him.
I do not like ANY boy names!! ( no offense to all you men out there) I am just extrememly picky.. most boy names are way too generic or just sound gay to me. I also have a problem if I can relate the name to someone I know (went to school with) etc. I just can’t use that name.
So to the point of this blog…. Hit me with your best name suggestions (pref male, since girl names we are all set on) I am warning you my fellow employees shoot names at me ALL DAY long, and they are shot down every single time. So I’m going to up the anti (that’s the correct poker term isn’t it?? I am sure if it’s not you poker freaks will let me know
)
If you happen to suggest a name that I like and I name my child you will get your very own $25 gift certificate to Golden Spoon or Cold Stone (your choice).
Let the suggestions roll in……

I have copy & pasted Daniels suggestions from another blog of mine.
And sorry Daniel I don’t like a one
10. danielbalc | July 30th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
Amy, have you picked out a name yet? I think you should write a post where people vote to name your child. That would be blogger commitment to the extreme. I have three suggestions…
Jesus
LaDanian
Daniel
2. itsasecret2u&hellip | July 31, 2007 at 6:40 pm
I wonder if Daniel was suggesting “Jee-zus” or “Hey-soos.”
Anyway, we have had a hard time with a boy name this time, simply because we’ve already had to weed through all the boys’ names out there to come up with 2 first and middle combos that we liked already. The third time is harder. We haven’t even looked at girl names. We’ll cross that unlikely bridge when (if) we come to it.
I probably won’t be much help with names, since we’re going through the same process. I don’t want to just suggest a bunch of our rejects for you guys! But, if you’re interested… some names we considered and are not using are Chad, Gavin, Bradley, and Heath. Those may or may not work for you because we have our own odd criteria we use to pick names. Our criteria are: 1) We have to like the name, 2) It can’t be too common (Dave won’t let me do David or anything like it), 3) It has to go with an “A” middle name… family tradition, 4) It has to go with our other two boys’ names. Like, we talked about Hunter, but that sounds more preppy than our other boys’ names. Hunter should have a brother named Preston. Hey! We should tell Z & J!
3. danielbalc&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 4:29 pm
My favorite line amy has ever written…
“most boy names are way too generic or just sound gay to me.”
hahaha. most boy names are way too gay? what? that’s so weird.
anyways,
I am deffinently suggesting Jesus and in Jesus Christ our savior. Elton John told us all about how Levon named his child Jesus. And we all know the the family business thrived and he spent his days counting money. So there are a lot of good associations with the name “Jesus”. Plus you could get him a piggy bank for his 6th birthday and tell him it’s because “Jesus saves”.
All I know is that none of you should even think about snatching away the name “Malcom”.
here are some other good suggestions from the Bible…
Hosea
Amos
Obadiah
Micah
Nahum
Habakkuk
Zephaniah
Haggai
Malachi
I left out Joel and Zechariah because they sounded too “gay”.
4. danielbalc&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 4:36 pm
Suggestions for secret that don’t sound too gay…
Fairleigh
Fagan
(those two would work well as a first and middle names)
or go with some good explorer names…
Ferdinand
Francisco (that’s fun to say)
5. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 4:45 pm
Jesus saves… LOL I surely hope Daniel will let Athena name the kids. Sheesh… Malcom. You should just go the whole nine yards and spell it Malcombe.
6. Bruce S.&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Abel.
7. amyleesspace&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 7:24 pm
DBalc- I should clarify… I don’t necessarily mean that boy names are gay in general, some boy names when you say them just sound gay. Next time I see you I will have to give you an example so you can see what I am talking about.
Like my mom suggested Christian, as a boy name and I said “HECK NO” to me that just sounds gay for a male.. ( no offense if anyone knows someone by that name)
I do have to say you have some intersting suggestions for names… but I don’t think you have to worry about anyone stealing Malcome it just has you written all over that
-Sorry everyone so far I have not seen a suggestion that catches my eye.
I told you I am extremely picky I think this baby (if it happens to be a boy) is seriously going to be named “Baby Juarez”
Secret- You could name your next if it is a boy, Sean Paul

Wences part 3
9. pokerforprofit&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 8:30 pm
If you want a Bible name you have to go with Asher.
Best name no one has ever heard of.
Otherwise, close your eyes open to a page in a name book and point.
10. danielbalc&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Asher was the name of our childhood dog.
I met a guy named Asher not too long ago and I was like, “oh cool, that means “happy” right?” He was freaked out that anyone could know that.
11. danielbalc&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 9:06 pm
I happen to know a whole lot of people who go by the name “Christian”…
I Peter 4:16
12. amyleesspace&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 9:10 pm
Hardy Har Har dbalc, however you spell the name it sounds gay

Asher- nope I think of Santa’s reindeers.
Wences Sr actually mentioned 5N’s idea, Wences III, and I simply said “GET OVER YOURSELF” then we laughed it off.. I don’t think I could handle another Wences in my family
I think I might just name the boy Amy… Hey we have to get my name in there somehow right,,, or I guess Amos would be the next best thing!
13. danielbalc&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 9:47 pm
If you do go with “amos” that was one of my suggestions so you had better pay up.
14. Franky&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 10:16 pm
Benito. Call him Benny
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benito_Ju%C3%A1rez
15. amyleesspace&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 10:34 pm
LOL Benito, is the “ito” added cause it is part mexican. Like a little tijuanito?? LOL!!
See the mixed race is also causing somewhat of a dilemna..
See I can’t name him (IF it is a boy we are praying that it’s a little girl) Charlie because that is just super white boy… and Then we can’t name him Jose or Pablo because that is just full on Mexican. Can you picture lil Wence being named Pablo running around in his choneys and a wife beater… I have to find a happy medium here!
16. danielbalc&hellip | August 1, 2007 at 10:47 pm
thats when you go with a completely different culture, like in my wife’s case. Her parents are Japanese and Russian so they gave her a greek name.
hmmmmm
what about Apollo?
17. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 3:04 am
Benito because then he’d be Benito Juarez (click on Franky’s link).
If you’re going Greek, I vote for Zeus.
Does anyone else really find name meanings important? I won’t pick a name unless it means something decent. I think it’s because my name means “of the Linden tree island” and that’s pretty much the worst meaning ever in the history of everything.
18. danielbalc&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 3:55 pm
You think your name meaning is bad? Check out my Dad’s. “From the dark and muddy (or bloody) water.” Brutal.
19. amyleesspace&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 4:45 pm
how interesting I wonder what mine means??? Anyone know?
You guys have given some great suggestions, but sorry nothing that I would use. I told you I think I have set you all up to fail, this is an impossible task. I could just name him after my brother Bud
20. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 6:24 pm
Daniel,
Douglas is my dad’s name as well and I usually see the meaning as “Dark water,” which sounds cool and mysterious. But muddy or bloody water, not so much. My mom’s name (Gina) doesn’t have a meaning because it is technically a nick name, so that’s a bummer too. They must have been bitter. They name me Linden Tree and my sister Genessa, which has something to do with “beginning” like Genesis, I think.
Amy,
Amy means “beloved.” That’s what David means too. Those are good meanings. Shane is “God is gracious,” and Jared is “Descendant,” which is boring. But his middle name is “Manly” (Andrew), so he is “Manly Descendant.” Mya is “Mine.” Sorry, I can’t find Wences anywhere!
21. Franky&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Wenceslao = great, glory.
http://www.mybabynameworld.com/meaning_of_Wenceslao.html
22. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 7:13 pm
Good call, Franky. I guess I should have been searching “Wenceslao.”
23. amyleesspace&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 8:24 pm
Good research guys! I love the meaning of all of our names except Mya… kinda random meaning
Where can I go look up this stuff?
24. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 2, 2007 at 9:27 pm
I have a couple sites I use (try Franky’s link above), but we also have a book. In the book, Mya means “emerald.” That’s kinda cool…
25. Pablo Honey&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 4:22 pm
Wow, sorry I have been missing this. I’m afraid this is all a moot point however, as I have been personally reassured that the baby boy is going to be named “Apollos”
26. amyleesspace&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 4:41 pm
LOL I don’t know about that Pablo, I think you should save that one for your next son
27. amyleesspace&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 4:56 pm
SIDE NOTE: Pablo PLEASE take your racing game away from Wences!! I beg of you!!
28. Pablo Honey&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 6:11 pm
hahahaha! I was wondering when you would ask. I’ll see what I can do, but I think he covets the game over our friendship, he might kill me rather than let it go.
29. Jessica&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 8:22 pm
Naming a person is hard work, we still don’t have any names picked out and unfortunately our baby was shy and hid for the ultrasound so we don’t know what sex it is. For my other two we didn’t find out what sex they were but coincidentally only had a girl name picked out for Zoe and only a boy name for Preston. So maybe you are having a girl and that is why you are having trouble w/ boy names.
I have always focused on the meaning of the name as my main criteria for choosing. Zoe means “life” her middle name is Grace so “Life of Grace”. Preston means “dwells in God’s house” and his middle name is the same as Zack’s Clent which doesn’t have a meaning. Also I found out after I picked his name that it was Zack Great Grandpa’s name so he isn’t the first Preston Morgan.
My Suggestions:
Xander or Zander
Zane
Javier
Kaylen
Viggo
Vincent or variations Vicente, Vincenzo, Vin, Vencent
I got all of these from a baby name book. I’m just trying to get some Golden Spoon.
30. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 8:46 pm
We find out a week from today the sex of our baby (assuming ours doesn’t hide too, Jess). I don’t know what I’m going to do if it’s a girl… I haven’t even opened the girl section of our name book. Ever.
Amy,
Since Wencey is named for his dad, have you considered another family name for this one (should it be a boy)? I know you mentioned your brother. This is a bad option for us on my side because I come from a long line of horrible names.
To point:
My grandmother, Clois Eugenia (middle name after her father Eugene, even though they had 3 SONS that they could have used that name for…). My grandparents kept the “name your only daughter for her dad” tradition by giving my mom her dad’s middle name as her middle name: Sam. Yep. My mom’s middle name is Sam. Not Samantha. Sam.
My great-grandmother’s first name was Willie Kees. Her father named all of his daughters after his ex-girlfriends. So there were apparently TWO WOMEN named Willie Kees running around this planet at the same time. Brutal. My grandparents on my dad’s side were Alberto (Bert) and Alberta. The Alberto is especially strange because my grandpa on that side had no hispanic/Latin heritage at all. Other boys’ names include Eldon, Vernon, Kedrick, Carmelo, and Rosario.
So, do any of those catch your eye?
31. pokerforprofit&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 10:11 pm
How about Axelrod, I believe I have a relative with that name.
32. 5najeras&hellip | August 3, 2007 at 10:29 pm
Okay, if we’re talking relatives with weird names:
My great grandfather is Yalmer Linaeus Settergren
Not sure on the spelling of the middle name but it’s pronounced “Lynn-ay-us”
It’s no wonder this didn’t get handed down to my grandpa. Maybe it’s a cool name in Sweden, where he’s from.
33. pokerforprofit&hellip | August 4, 2007 at 1:18 am
It must be a Scandinavian thing as my family is from Finland.
Leave it to the Vikings to come up with the strange names.
34. go play intramurals bruth&hellip | August 4, 2007 at 6:21 am
WOW! I am seriously beginning to think that I was not clear on the game here. I think everyone thought I meant, Name the most random name you can think of for this baby boy.. ( if its a boy)
I am sorry to say but there has not been a one that has even remotely caught my eye, sorry guys
but a big A for effort that is for sure! So I’m thinking this puppy is coming this weekend ( I have been wrong once or twice in my life) so you guys don’t have much longer…
Pablo-Wences has promised me this is the last night I have to sit here and twiddle my thumbs while he plays that racing game. If he doesn’t bring it to you tomorrow, I personally will drive it over
35. go play intramurals bruth&hellip | August 4, 2007 at 6:22 am

LOL.. I appreciate that you guys are still trying!! Raul sorry no, and Giovanni, we are not Italian Daniel
You thought I was kidding when I said I was extremely picky ?!?
40. danielbalc&hellip | August 6, 2007 at 9:18 pm
Some more biblical names for ya…
Titus
Jude
Jude Juarez is kinda cool
41. itsasecret2u&hellip | August 6, 2007 at 11:39 pm
If you name him Jude Juarez you could call him JJ. He might like it because he’d have the same name as Jay Jay the Jet Plane, which toddler boys seem to like. Of course, my toddler doesn’t say “Jay Jay” properly and it comes out “Gay Gay,” so maybe that’s not a good idea after all…
42. amyleesspace&hellip | August 7, 2007 at 4:16 pm
Jude is okay… but it is way too close to Judah.. that wouldn’t be good
43. Albino Hayford&hellip | August 7, 2007 at 10:45 pm
Benito Juarez is the Mexican President who separated church and state forever in Mexico. He is a HERO to all evangelical Mexicans, and he was a pen pal of Abraham Lincoln, exchanging many letters with Lincoln. He was also the one and only full-blooded Indian President in Mexican history. Yes, Benito would be a great choice, but I have a better one.
“Jangles” — this combines the names “James”, “Douglas” and “Daniel” — three of the most underated pastors in America! Or maybe “Balcleglum”, combining the last names of all your current pastoral staff?
44. amyleesspace&hellip | August 8, 2007 at 10:01 pm
LOL the award for most creative would defintely go to Jim, for sure!!!
So far no takers yet, sorry guys! But your doing great at guessing!!
I think we all just need to pray real hard that this a girl!!
Every family could use another girl!
45. Alex&hellip | August 9, 2007 at 10:20 pm
Hophni or Phinehas
How could you not choose one of Eli’s sons? They were responsible for making sure the “ladies of the Church” were “Comfortable.” Sort of like ushers.
46. amyleesspace&hellip | August 10, 2007 at 5:29 pm
Sorry Alex, I am not liking those names either
Especially knowing what they were known for !
Wasn’t that you and Wences’ nicknames growing up
47. Alex&hellip | August 10, 2007 at 11:00 pm
Actually it was Wences and Brucie. There was no 3rd head on that “monster”.
48. amyleesspace&hellip | August 13, 2007 at 4:38 pm
LOL, yes you are right it was Brucie and Wences.. Gosh I knew my man was a P-I-M-P!
49. Jessica&hellip | August 21, 2007 at 4:15 pm
Congratulations on #3! You’ll have to tell me how it is going from two to three, I’m so nervous.

51. hana&hellip | September 9, 2007 at 5:17 am
how bout elina for a baby girl?
52. Amy Juarez&hellip | September 10, 2007 at 3:46 am
Sorry Hana (not sure who you are) but welcome
I actually had my baby girl Aug 17th and named her Molly Rae, I was so glad I had a girl. It made name picking so much easier! The middle name was the only struggle, then when I thought of Rae, it could not have been more perfect.
